Hi! I'm Julio, and my passion for language goes way beyond words. As a proud graduate in Linguistics and Hispanic Literature from UNAM, I have always been captivated by the history and culture of Mexico. At Spanish Lab, I have channeled that passion to create a space where we can explore the intricate forms of Spanish in an authentic way. I offer private & group Spanish classes in Tulum that will help you master the language while you immerse yourself in our culture.

The environment plays a vital role in the learning process, as does the way we use logical creativity in the development of our classes. It is best to be in a space free from walls or prejudices, where the growth of intelligence and talents are not constrained, and where the student’s great effort to express their universe through a new system of individual-collective symbols can truly flourish.

Using immersive and research-based methodologies such as the Immersion Method, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Discovery Learning, Comprehensible Input, Task-Based Learning, and communicative language acquisition techniques, I help students develop Spanish naturally and confidently — without relying on constant translation.

Lessons are designed to activate language through meaningful interaction and real-life communication. Vocabulary and grammar are introduced organically through conversation, storytelling, grammar hacking, role-playing, contextual illustrations, guided discovery, and simulations of everyday situations.

Students learn to think in Spanish by engaging with the language in authentic contexts, allowing grammar patterns and vocabulary to emerge intuitively through repetition, association, and emotional connection. Advanced teaching materials, visual resources, memory techniques, and cultural immersion activities support this dynamic learning process.

Special attention is given to the development of all core language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing — as well as pronunciation, rhythm, intonation, and non-verbal communication such as body language, gestures, and cultural cues.
